Early Internship Experience

My first internship was with the Fairbanks School of Public Health as a Public Health Student Volunteer Corps Intern.

The Public Health Student Volunteer Corps allows students to apply classroom learning to a wide variety of real-world public health activities. Students have the opportunity to complete short-term assignments at the request of our practice partners.

My responsibilities as an intern included:

  • Maintain and update student contact lists to ensure effective communication with Corps members.

  • Track and monitor student hours volunteered and ensure timely submission of evaluations and feedback forms.

  • Learn and utilize REDCap software to build and manage online surveys and databases, helping keep project data organized and accurate.
