My name is Tamarrie Walton
About Me
I am a senior at Indiana University Indianapolis, majoring in Health Services Management with a minor in Public Health. After I graduate, my goal is to work as a Recruiter/Talent Acquisition Specialist in healthcare. My experience in interviewing and onboarding candidates has given me the skills to succeed in a healthcare recruiting role.
Why Health Services Management?
I chose Health Services Management because people can make an impact without direct patient care. My whole life I wanted to pursue Nursing, until I reached my senior year of highschool and recieved my Certified Nursing Assitance License. From there, I quickly realized that there was more to taking care of people than bedside manner. I started to research occupations that involved indirect patient care. Eventually, I stumbled upon this program and enjoyed reading all the opportunities it offered.
This program offers numerous ways to network with people in Health Administration, Long-Term Care, and many other fields. A course that I completed that I enjoyed was "Organizational Behavior & Human Resources in Healthcare." This class helped me further understand what my preferences are regarding my occupation after my undergraduate studies.
